H Gloria Grahame γεννήθηκε το 1923 στο Λος Άντζελες. Οι πιο ενημερωμένοι θα τη θυμούνται από το It's A Wonderful Life του Φρανκ Κάπρα, οι πιο σινεφίλ από το In A Lonely Place του Νίκολας Ρέι και οι πιο φανατικοί από το The Bad and the Beautiful του Βισέντε Μινέλι. Στο τέλος της καριέρας της ζούσε στο Λίβερπουλ. Λίγες ώρες πριν το θάνατο της μεταφέρθηκε στη Νέα Υόρκη. Ο φίλος της Πίτερ Τέρνερ με τον οποίο ζούσε στο Λιβέρπουλ έγραψε ένα βιβλίο με τίτλο Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool.
Η ίδια έλεγε πάντοτε: I never really understood Hollywood.
Μα και το Hollywood δεν κατάλαβε ποτέ την Gloria Grahame...

Το είδα όλο ναι! Μία ώρα και είκοσι λεπτά το κάθε επεισόδιο, δέκα συνολικά επεισόδια, μέσα σε τρεις ημέρες... Ανάμεσα ο χρόνος άλλαξε, αλλά οι εξωγήινοι δεν ήρθαν ποτέ! Αν το δείτε ποτέ, κρατήστε το για καιρό. Ένα επεισόδιο την βδομάδα αρκεί. Το πως φυσικά 20 περίπου ώρες συνοψίζονται στα πόσα - κανονικά - λεπτά του Close Encounters of the Third Kind, είναι μάλλον διαπίστωση κοινή και κυνική! We are either alone or not alone. Nothing in between.
